I honestly thought that I had grown/developed/learned enough where I understood all these things and had complete control. But honestly this course helped me find those areas where I still need to work. The sections with the children talking about their issues and their lacking relationships with their parents hurt.

It helped me understand the importance of keeping children out of the middle, communicating calmly with my co-parent, and focusing on what is best for Sierra instead of adult conflict. I appreciated about this course the "Business-Like" shift - reframing co-parenting as a professional partnership rather than a personal one makes the conflict much easier to manage. I also liked the emphasis on specificity: learning that vague plans lead to arguments, and that detailed schedules actually provide freedom and peace for the kids; and the transition focus - realizing how much the "mental gear-shifting" affects the children and getting practical ideas to make those hand-offs smoother. I liked that the course is validating the idea that parents, not courts, are the best experts on their own children’s lives.
