High Conflict/Anger Management Classes

“The greatest remedy for anger is delay.“ Thomas Paine

Our classes help individuals identify emotions in order to respond in a healthy and productive manner. Classes help with recognizing situations that are likely to provoke emotion, to understand signs and symptoms that their emotions are in danger of getting out of control, and to act in a manner that defuses their emotions and finds productive resolutions for addressing their immediate situation.

Classes are beneficial in cases where an inappropriate response to stresses, pressures, and conflicts have contributed to or exacerbated an addiction, behavior disorder, or other mental health issue.

After completing the classes, individuals should be able to:

  • identify and express appropriate feelings and needs
  • recognize risk areas that are likely to be a trigger
  • develop skills to recognize when thinking becomes impaired
  • focus on solutions rather than problems
  • practice calming techniques when confronted with feelings of anger

Anger, if properly channeled, can be a healthy emotion and reduce the risk of potentially unhealthy outcomes. Denying anger may cause frustration or irritation and affect every part of our daily life. It may contribute to broken relationships, poor mental and emotional performance and lead to substance use and abuse.

By learning to recognize our anger and learning skills help reduce or eliminate the emotions associated with that anger allows us the opportunity build tolerance towards others and an insight into issues in an effort to define a positive outcome.
