It was very practical and gave me real tools (like BIFF communication, parallel parenting, and de-escalation techniques) that I can actually use. The class helped me understand my child’s needs better and focus on protecting their emotional well-being. I appreciated learning about ambiguous loss, resilience, and flexible thinking — these concepts really helped me make sense of my feelings. The program encouraged me to reflect on my own behavior and growth instead of only focusing on my co-parent. It gave me hope that even in a high-conflict situation, I can create more stability and peace for my child.

I learned how to use proper clear communication. In a situation such as my own I’ve liked this program for many reasons. I like the steps of the ladder. I like how it concentrates on what’s best for the child - for example - it states not to talk badly about the other parent. I know if someone does this class, and doesn’t take anything from it, then they were clearly not paying attention, or didn’t invest the right amount of time for it.

It offered ways/ideas for how to communicate with the children about difficult topics. It helped me understand that it's ok to take care of myself too. I knew I made the right decision when I left my marriage, but the "Intimate Partner Violence" module I chose, reaffirmed that for me and helped me not feel alone. I deserve better and to not be emotionally, psychologically, and verbally abused almost daily and in front of the children.
