Honestly this program made me think about some things that I haven't. Ways that I may be coping, ways that my kids may be coping with these changes. I know that as the primary parent I need to make sure that I provide that open space for my girls to talk to me. I know I have to set aside my feelings for their dad and be present for them and their feelings towards their dad.

First of all, I want to thank you for this class. It will be very helpful for my future relationship with my son and my ex-partner. Thank you for teaching me how to handle my feelings and how to take care of myself. Realizing that one of the things I have to do first is face myself in order to be okay and so that my son is okay. How to handle the stages of the breakup or separation that I am going through, and also how to motivate myself to keep moving forward after one feels that the world is falling on top of them with a situation like this. It also helped me manage things as a separated parent, understand the conflicts and how to handle them with the other foster parent. And above all, I learned how to communicate with my son and how to protect him... and have a healthy relationship with him and the co-parent... thank you.

I liked that it actually made me realize my personal real life situations with my children and it explained to me exactly why some of these things were happening, like the constant lying and unexplained attitude swings. I was very impressed that it kept me involved in the course videos and that I was interested and took in as much as I could from it all.

This class helped me recognize how interactions between co-parents can escalate and how these toxic interactions can effect the child. I appreciated the tools and strategies on ways to avoid and de-escalate conflict. The class defined spousal abuse and validated my position with being the target of particular behaviors my partner has had toward me; over-riding the feedback and feelings I had that I was being dramatic or overly sensitive.
