It helped me feel normal - what I am experiencing is common for people during separation and divorce. It also equipped me to better help my children get through this and helped me understand what I can do to make it better for them. Lastly, it helped me understand the process better and gave me tools and resources to work on taking care of myself, checking in with my kids, bonding with them and working on a parenting plan.

It is a good teaching tool for people having issues of getting along and cooperating. It will help parents show they aren't alone in their feelings. It puts the children first and makes some think about how they need to think of the children above themselves and their revenge.

I appreciated that things were explained clearly and simply. This process is already so complicated and full of legal jargon, that it is refreshing for things to be explained in layman's terms.

The sections on how this is a new type of relationship, more like a colleague in parenting. I liked the tips on how to communicate effectively and avoid unnecessary conflict. I really like the information and tips on how to talk to, help them get through change and put the children first and out of the "middle."

The things I really liked about this class was that it helped me know and understand that I am not alone when dealing with conflict with a co-parent. It taught me how to better manage it in a healthy way. Though I was already doing many of these things now, I can incorporate some other things into what I am already doing. It also made me aware of what to expect in the upcoming hearings when no one else told me or knew.

The class teaches you how to put your feelings aside and focus on the well-being of the children. It teaches you how not to put your co-parent down; how to practice a business relationship with your co-parent; never get the children in the middle of the confusion between you and your co-parent, don't use the children against the co-parent; assure the children that things will be alright; tell the children that the break-up is not their fault; be ready to answer any question the children may have; learn how to approach your co-parent more respectably. It is the parent's responsibility to make sure their children are safe. The parents are to make decisions in the interest of their children. It is wrong to look forward to a romantic date with your co-parent when you are broken up. Discuss with your children what is necessary, not the cause of your break up. Be ready to discuss with your co-parent the arrangement for caring for the children. Be ready to work with your co-parent to make the transition a smooth one for the sacks of the children. Make the same rules in each house where the children will be, to avoid confusing the children.

I liked that it was interactive and kept me engaged with thoughtful questions. I hope I can revisit these later. I had to do a lot of reflection which was hard at times, but necessary and that my co-parent had to take this course as well gives me some hope that on a common understanding we can make progress on the parent plan.
