I liked the breakdown about the legal process towards the end, as well as the structured approach to things to consider about a child's best interest. For me and our situation, it was also very important/validating to have certain things spelled out like ways to prevent your children from being caught in the middle of your own divorce.

The program also offered helpful tools for thinking about communication with a co-parent and ways to manage disagreements in a healthier way. I appreciated that the program encouraged reflection on children’s emotional needs during times of transition. The focus on stability, routine, and keeping children out of the middle was particularly meaningful. It reinforced the importance of maintaining structure and prioritizing the children’s well-being above conflict. I also found value in the sections that discussed communication styles and the developmental impact of change on children. Even in situations where co-parenting is limited or structured differently, the reminders about emotional safety and consistency are helpful. Overall, the program reinforced principles that I already strive to follow and provided useful perspective on maintaining a child-centered approach during separation.

I appreciated that the program focused on putting children first and emphasized how important emotional stability and routine are during family transitions. It reinforced the idea that managing my own emotions is one of the most important things I can do to help my child adjust in a healthy way. I also found it helpful that the course discussed practical communication tools for co-parenting after a break-up, especially keeping communication child-focused, brief, and respectful. The reminders about avoiding conflict in front of children and not involving them in adult issues were important and valuable. Another thing I appreciated was the emphasis on reassurance — making sure children understand that the separation is not their fault and that they are loved by both parents. That message resonated with me. Overall, the program helped me reflect on how I can continue improving as a parent and co-parent by focusing on stability, structure, and emotional regulation.
