This is my second time taking the course. I believe that the good communication skills of both parents are essential for the kids upbringing. I think when you show the kids the opposite, it shows them that communicating in a negative fashion is effective. I think that both parents need to properly work together in terms of carrying out the parenting plan, so that the kid is able to see both parents. I think this program goes into great detail about the significance of two parents working together.

I liked the breakdown about the legal process towards the end, as well as the structured approach to things to consider about a child's best interest. For me and our situation, it was also very important/validating to have certain things spelled out like ways to prevent your children from being caught in the middle of your own divorce.

I appreciated that the program encouraged reflection on children’s emotional needs during times of transition. The focus on stability, routine, and keeping children out of the middle was particularly meaningful. It reinforced the importance of maintaining structure and prioritizing the children’s well-being above conflict. I also found value in the sections that discussed communication styles and the developmental impact of change on children. Even in situations where co-parenting is limited or structured differently, the reminders about emotional safety and consistency are helpful. Overall, the program reinforced principles that I already strive to follow and provided useful perspective on maintaining a child-centered approach during separation.
