Some things I really liked about this program were how child focused it was and how often it brought the focus back to what children need during and after a separation. I appreciated the practical guidance on communication, parenting plans, and decision making, rather than just theory. The explanations were clear and helped normalize difficult situations while offering realistic tools that feel doable. I also found it helpful that the program emphasized flexibility and long term stability, not just getting through the immediate separation

Indigo L.

This course contained a lot of good information. Even if it was stuff I knew, going through a divorce, everything gets sped up, and you have no time to think or process. This allowed me to slow down and try to actually decide things for the best long-term results. It was also good in the way it put things into perspective.

What I liked about this course was learning about stages of adjustment, how to be a good co-parent, that we have to take care of ourselves first and about the stress children experience while parents are separating. I also enjoyed learning about the 5 types of communication styles, tips on managing conflict and how to communicate better with the other parent. It's important to stay away from telling each other what to do and from feelings when communicating with your partner - focusing on information, problem-solving and on caring for the children.

I liked that each unit is structured the same way. It does a good job breaking down each section between reading, videos and journaling to reflect as you learn. It challenges you to be critical of yourself just as much as the co-parent.

I initially didn't have high expectations for this class. However, taking time to go through it and really focusing on understanding each lesson was so beneficial. My favorite part of all the units were the videos of the kids. So often, their voices aren't heard. They feel they aren't cared about. It was so eye opening to hear directly from them and how they are affected in the process.
