Although I am not technically co-parenting and some of this class was not relevant to me or my situation, I enjoyed learning about tools for communication with my kids and their dad. I liked that the quizzes also provided the correct answers.

Some things I really liked about this program were how child focused it was and how often it brought the focus back to what children need during and after a separation. I appreciated the practical guidance on communication, parenting plans, and decision making, rather than just theory. The explanations were clear and helped normalize difficult situations while offering realistic tools that feel doable. I also found it helpful that the program emphasized flexibility and long term stability, not just getting through the immediate separation

This course contained a lot of good information. Even if it was stuff I knew, going through a divorce, everything gets sped up, and you have no time to think or process. What I liked about this course was learning about stages of adjustment, how to be a good co-parent, that we have to take care of ourselves first and about the stress children experience while parents are separating. I also enjoyed learning about the 5 types of communication styles, tips on managing conflict and how to communicate better with the other parent. It's important to stay away from telling each other what to do and from feelings when communicating with your partner - focusing on information, problem-solving and on caring for the children.

Some things I really liked about this program are that it helped me understand my children’s needs, taught me how to communicate better with my co-parent and gave me tools to create a clear and fair parenting plan. I also liked that it helped me think about my own feelings during a break-up and how to manage them, which will make it easier for my children to feel safe and supported.
