Some things I really liked about this program were the focus on keeping children out of the middle and helping parents understand children’s emotional needs during separation. I appreciated learning about communication skills, conflict reduction and how structure and consistency help children feel safe. The program also helped me see how important it is to manage my own emotions so I can support my child in a healthy way. I found the practical tools and reflection questions helpful for thinking about long-term co-parenting and creating a stable environment for my child.

I liked that each unit is structured the same way. It does a good job breaking down each section between reading, videos and journaling to reflect as you learn. It challenges you to be critical of yourself just as much as the co-parent.

I like how explains the parent's point of view of the separation and the child's view as well. It also explains common ways to co-parent and makes sure to show some options on steps to take if it's a difficult break-up.

I initially didn't have high expectations for this class. However, taking time to go through it and really focusing on understanding each lesson was so beneficial. My favorite part of all the units were the videos of the kids. So often, their voices aren't heard. They feel they aren't cared about. It was so eye opening to hear directly from them and how they are affected in the process.
