1. Emphasis on quality relationships: I appreciated how the program highlighted the importance of prioritizing the quality of relationships over rigid schedules or specific time allocations, recognizing that children ultimately crave stability and peace within their family dynamics. 2. Focus on children’s well-being: It was commendable to see the program’s recognition of the impact of parental conflict on children and the emphasis on protecting them from unnecessary stress or involvement in legal matters beyond their understanding. 3. Practical advice: The program provided practical advice and insights into how parents can navigate co-parenting challenges with sensitivity and empathy, offering strategies to create a nurturing environment for children amidst the complexities of divorce.

I really like that they are including domestic violence resources and help, lots of information for families with alcohol addiction and other substance abuse issues. Although, I think the court system falls short in protecting children within these dangerous or abusive family systems by still trying to create fairness and equality between the parents, rather than putting the child's physical needs, safety and emotional needs ahead of the wants or needs of the parents. I also really liked the videos and different perspectives shown, with a lot of relatable scenarios.

The different strategies to understand and reframe the conflict between parties and with ones self. The BIFF strategy for high-conflict people during separations or co-parenting is going to be invaluable for me while I navigate my separation with my ex-fiance. This course actually helped me reframe my viewpoint of myself as a victim of the my ex-fiance's actions and has helped me to forgive and be more compassionate and empathetic to her current situation. I've been able to forgive her actions without justifying or condoning them as I have in the past. Overall this course has helped immensely as I head into the process of determining child custody and co-parenting my son after this difficult separation.
